162,000 WordPress Websites Disturbed with DDoS Attack – Sucuri

The hackers have hijacked over 162,000 WordPress website by Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, the Sucuri reported.

The CTO of Sucuri, Mr. Daniel Cid revealed the botnet while analyzing the attack that target on of their customers. He added the management of Sucuri is tracing the source of attack that focused legitimate WordPress sites.

In this DDoS attack the notable thing is that legitimate WordPress sites are under this attack as the other WordPress sites where send random requests on a large scale that brings sites down.

In his blog post, Daniel Cid also described how a DDoS work? As well as he provides the solutions to protect your WordPress site from a DDoS attack.

Cid also added that the hackers got success to mount the scam using of famous flows in WordPress code, by using these codes attackers can use thousands of clean WordPress websites to perform their DDoS attack. All of these actions can happen with a simple pin-back request to XML-RPC file.

These type of DDoS attacks are creating problems in business and government websites. These are popular among the technical hackers and in 2014 that tactics used against various high-profile websites.
