WordPress Sites are Under Bruteforce Attack

Wordfence a famous WordPress Security plugin’s website reported a large number of WordPress websites are under bruteforce attack.  

Bruteforce Attack on WordPress websitesAccording to Wordfence report it is noted that there is a huge increase in number of attacks on 10th February.

Another security company “BruteProtect” also revealed on WPtavern about this Brutforce attack.

The attack was on a large scale that effects the control the data being created and displayed on its screens.

The attack’s mechanism was to bruteforce the WordPress admin login area that was using the different admin login names which have not changed their admin login from other vague name.

How to be Safe from Bruteforce Attack?

To save from these type of attacks the WordPress experts suggest to use a plugin that limits the login attempts and blacklists the IP address that try to bruteforce.

You can use a strong WordPress admin password with combination of special characters, numbers, small and large alphabetic.

You can also change your admin user and login name after some time, set a special date in a month to change your admin’s login details.
